Do you watch HGTV, TLC, and any other shows that document home purchase, home repair, organization, etc?

Well, a unique and potentially very fun opportunity was sent to me today by Coldwell Banker’s marketing coordinator.    The TLC is casting for their show ‘MY FIRST HOME’ (see description below, provided by, Liz Massie, producer of the show MY FIRST HOME).

“MY FIRST HOME is a half-hour series for TLC that will focus on the joys and terrors of first-time home buyers as they undertake the most important purchase of their lives. We will also meet the realtor who guides them through each step as they search and find their new home. We will cover the bidding, escrow and closing processes. The show will combine the basic facts of home buying with the emotional journey of the buyers.”Production will involve 2-3 shooting days. We are looking for home buyers who will be closing escrow on their new homes from July 24 to mid-October.  If you are interested in participating in this show, please contact us with story ideas, including a little background on the person or couple buying a home and when they will be closing escrow.”

If you or anyone you know fit this bill (first time buyer, ready to close escrow between July 24 and mid-October) and would possibly be interested in sharing their home purchase experience with me and a camera crew and eventually TLC viewers,  please give them my name and number (or you give me theirs).

Not only will they receive excellent service from me, this could be incredibly fun and memorable!

    Hi,

My name is Ryan, my wife’s name is Emily.

We got married about a year ago after dating throughout college, and have saved up enough for our first home.

We both work outside Philadelphia and because of our location, we are looking in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. We hope to be in a house by this summer.

If TLC is still casting, we would love to be considered for the show!

    Thanks.

    Hi,

My name is Miriam and my husbands name is Randy. We are approaching our first year of marriage this June and are looking for a house. We dated throughout college and are eager to purchase our first home in the San Francisco Bay Area.

My husband works in Finance in San Francisco and I work in Pharmaceutical Sales in the Pennisula and East Bay. We are looking for something that is Bart accessible for him to commute to work and is inside or right next to my work territory.

If TLC is casting please pick us as we love your show!!!!

    Hello,

Kelly here, from Wisconsin. Yes, we have all four seasons here. My husband and I and our three children live in the farmhouse (apprx. 125 years old) on our rural farm/business complex. We are preparing to buy our first “own” home after over 28 years in the same house! All our children have only known this as home, all 900 square feet of it! A small but a loving space it has been, but we are ready for a change! We have always wanted to save homes destined for tear-down due to development and have finally found such a home that is still in wonderfully great condition! A ranch/walk-out with some 2500 sg. feet on the first level. Of course in the “hermit crab” type move we must do, the house will lose it’s lower level and the beautiful brick face it has. The house was built in the late 1940′s and is an absolute dream of a house. Quality wood and craftsmanship throughout and heated by copper pipes in the ceiling! Even though the house itself cost us very little, the moving (some 20 miles) will be expensive as will the recreating of the walk-out bottom floor and brick face. WE COULD USE HELP AND EXPERIENCED
FOLKS! Interested in an interesting home “come” home project. Give us a try!

    THANKS!

    Kelly From Wisconsin

My son Jeffrey has just graduated from university in Dec 08 and has been hired on by Microsoft in Redmond Wa. He would like to buy a place in Kirkland, WA. (apparently this is where all the young people are located) but he doesn’t have a clue about buying a place in Washington. He is living at his grandmothers condo right in Vancouver, and will have approx 40k as a down payment. Can you help him as he is getting frustrated trying to find a place on his own. The realtors he has contacted keep showing him places that are $550k + I know he can’t afford this, so we need help.

    thanks

My husband and I were just on the show, the Palm Springs episode. BEWARE-this show practically ruined our lives and was an absolute nightmare! They sign you up, promise you all kinds of new items for your new house and then at the end you get NOTHING. They entire show was scripted, completely FAKE. We bought our house in August 2008 and they filmed our My First Home episode in January 2009!!! All of the houses on our episode were not even for sale! We had to LIE throughout the entire taping. It was a HORRIBLE experience and my husband and I feel like we got completely taken advantage of. At one point during the 7 days of filming, my husband actually quit because it was so awful. If we could go back in time, we would NOT have ever done it. Please beware and take our word for it.

Jesus Christ there is a great deal of spammy comments on this web site. Have you actually believed about attempting to get rid of them or putting in a plugin?
